Episode 37 is all about beer! We talk with Jason from The Yeastie Beastie - Homebrew Supplies in D’iberville about how to brew your own beer. Jason has 9 years of brewing experience and its easy to tell how much he loves doing it. He was nice enough to bring in two different types of their home brews so that we could try them. In episode 36 I talk with Corey Christy from the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum. Corey describes all the different ways the museum highlights our local culture. They have two 65’ Biloxi Schooners that sail the Gulf of Mexico daily. The Museum also has many exhibits that showcase the history of the seafood industry on the coast and they host a summer Sea-n-Sail Camp designed to educate the youth about local maritime heritage. This event features a dog parade through Biloxi downtown and raises money for the Humane Society.

In episode 33, we talk with the guys from Speckled Truth. For those of you who have never heard of Speckled Truth I highly recommend checking them out. They are a group of guys dedicated to the targeting and more importantly conservation of large speckled trout. This group consists of four guys, Chris, Kyle, Keith, and Edward. We were glad to get all four of them in a room together to do the podcast seeing as how they are spread out between three different states. Speckled Truth started out as a blog in 2013 were Chris was writing about his experiences as he tried to catch large speckled trout. In episode 31 of Brown Water Banter, Joey and I talk with J.j. Brumble about being a boat captain. J.j. grew up in Florida and started working in the charter boat business. He started out as a deck hand and moved his way up to running his own charter boat. J.j eventually moved on from charter boats and is now the captain of a supply boat in the oil and gas industry. We talk about how his career has progressed, the different types of captain’s licenses that are available in his industry and what its like to be on a boat away from your family for extended periods of time.

In episode 30, we talk with Josh Covacevich. Josh is a local attorney who decided that practicing law wasn’t making him completely happy. Josh wanted to have more free time to enjoy the outdoors. We talk about his journey from being a full-time attorney to owning three vape shops here on the coast. We also discuss some of the challenges he currently faces in that industry. Now that he has more flexibility, Josh has more free time to do one of the things he loves, target big speckle trout. We get into how he targets these big trout in the last quarter of the video.
